THIS PROGRAM IS CLOSED. AS OF APRIL 7, 2010, ALL OF TEXAS' REBATE FUNDS HAVE BEEN RESERVED. THE WAITLIST IS ALSO CLOSED.
The State of Texas is implementing a mail-in rebate program to help residents replace older, inefficient appliances with new, ENERGY STAR® qualified and ultra-efficient appliances. Rebate reservations began at 7 a.m. Central Time on April 7, 2010 and closed later that day. The waitlist is also closed.
Customers with rebate reservations must purchase clothes washers, dishwashers, refrigerators, freezers, and room air conditioners from April 16 through May 9, 2010; customers must purchase water heaters, central air conditioners, and air source heat pumps from April 16 through June 15, 2010. Additional purchase dates may be made available if funds remain.
Covered appliances are
- Refrigerators
- Freezers
- Clothes washers
- Dishwashers
- Room air conditioners
- Gas storage water heaters
- Gas tankless water heaters
- Electric heat pump water heaters
- Solar water heaters
- Central air conditioners
- Air source heat pumps
Customers are required to provide proof of haul-away of replaced appliances. Consumers can also obtain a bonus rebate by providing proof that their old appliances were recycled through a State Energy Conservation Office partner retailer or recycling center. Completed rebate applications must be postmarked by June 15, 2010 for all products.
