THIS PROGRAM IS CLOSED. AS OF APRIL 16, 2010, ALL VOUCHERS HAVE BEEN DISTRIBUTED. ADDITIONAL REBATES MAY BE AVAILABLE LATER IN THE SUMMER IF FUNDS REMAIN.

The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico is implementing a voucher rebate program to help residents replace older, inefficient appliances with new ENERGY STAR® qualified appliances. Vouchers for consumers to redeem at participating retailers were distributed through all 78 municipalities of Puerto Rico, based on population. The program began February 24, 2010, with voucher distribution closed on April 16, 2010. Voucher expiration dates have been extended to May 16, 2010. If funds remain, an additional round will begin later in the summer of 2010 until funds are depleted.

Eligible products include

  • Refrigerators
  • Freezers
  • Clothes washers
  • Dishwashers
  • Room air conditioners
  • Water heaters
  • Central air conditioners

Participating retailers must agree to haul-away and properly dispose of or recycle all appliances, including the recovery of refrigerants.

Before purchasing a product, check with your program sponsor to ensure rebates are available, and to confirm product eligibility and program requirements. Products purchased must meet efficiency criteria as established by the territory.
