The State of Kentucky is implementing a mail-in rebate program to help residents replace older, inefficient appliances with new, ENERGY STAR® qualified appliances. Rebates began April 22, 2010. Although all product rebates were reserved as of May 24, 2010, consumers can sign up for a waitlist in the event additional funds become available.

Eligible products include

  • Refrigerators
  • Freezers
  • Clothes washers
  • Dishwashers
  • Room air conditioners
  • Gas condensing water heaters
  • Gas storage water heaters
  • Gas tankless water heaters
  • Electric heat pump water heaters
  • Solar water heaters (electric and gas back-up)
  • Gas Furnaces
  • Gas Boilers
  • Central air conditioners
  • Air source heat pumps
  • Geothermal heat pumps

Consumers are required to "self-certify" replacement of appliances and Kentucky encourages consumers to recycle their old appliances.
