The State of Kentucky is implementing a mail-in rebate program to help residents replace older, inefficient appliances with new, ENERGY STAR® qualified appliances. Rebates began April 22, 2010. Although all product rebates were reserved as of May 24, 2010, consumers can sign up for a waitlist in the event additional funds become available.
Eligible products include
- Refrigerators
- Freezers
- Clothes washers
- Dishwashers
- Room air conditioners
- Gas condensing water heaters
- Gas storage water heaters
- Gas tankless water heaters
- Electric heat pump water heaters
- Solar water heaters (electric and gas back-up)
- Gas Furnaces
- Gas Boilers
- Central air conditioners
- Air source heat pumps
- Geothermal heat pumps
Consumers are required to "self-certify" replacement of appliances and Kentucky encourages consumers to recycle their old appliances.
